Life Lessons on the Mississippi I met some of the funniest and most intelligent people I've ever known on the Mississippi River. These stories are a collection of those adventures. The stories are true. For obvious reasons, I changed the names of the companies I worked for, the boats I worked on, and the folks I worked with. If memory serves, everything else is 100% accurate. Sometimes memory serves a net ball. Mark Twain claimed that as he got older his memory improved, that he could eventually remember things whether they happened or not. We have that gift in common. It grieves me to report that some people on the river used profanity, but in the interest of accuracy and integrity, I have quoted the characters verbatim in these stories. Reader beware: Some of the language is R-rated. |
