At least half of the emails and all of the smoke signals we get want to know, “Where the %&*# is San Michez?” San Michez is a sandbar community on the lower Mississippi River. It is a clothing-optional (in the late afternoon and early evening, the mosquitoes will make that choice for you) getaway. We invite you to drop by anytime. Join us around the campfire. Roast a weenie. Sing a song. Share a story. During the day, take a walk in the woods. Swing through the trees. Throw a line in the water and your brain in neutral. Rent a solar-powered dune buggy. Wrestle an alligator (tag teams now forming). Retrace the steps of your ancestors to our fully operational whiskey still. See the varmint. Shop for souvenirs in the Bayou Boutique. Did you see How the West was Won? That place Walter Brennan had? It’s kind of like that.

Do you know the way to San Michez? Here to tell us is legendary Tea Time Movie host, Art Fern!

“How do you get there, you ask? It's simple: Head up river from Vicksburg. Go east at the Isle of Suwannee until you get to Eckerpay Point. Go around Minder Bend and head north. Keep heading north until you see the Mr. Potay Towhead. Take the west fork to the Slauson Slough. Get off the boat. Slay your slauson. Get back on the boat. Continue west six miles to Ann Anna Bay and look for the giant neon catfish. Now back to our movie: Mark Twain, Julia Belle Swain, Proud Mary, Mary Greene, Horace Bixby, Huck Finn, Mike Fink, Steamboat Willie, and Gator the Wonder Gar in Mister Bojangles goes to Buffelsjags.”
