I WANT TO KNOW IT'S YOU
The 3 of us are lyin here Together in the dark. I hear romantic moaning, Then I hear somebody bark. Darlin, two is company, And K-9 is a crowd. Can't we have just one room Where there are no pets allowed?
I like friendly licks And sometimes biting can be fun; You know I like waggin tails As much as anyone, But, when I feel fuzz against me When I'm sleepin like a log, I want to know it's you And not your friggin dog.
I have a way with animals; I can read their minds: Your hound would rather be Out sniffin other dogs' behinds. Your pooch can't stand your perfume Or the smell of my cigars. Let's let it go whiz on a tree And try to catch some cars.
I love the look that's in your eye When you turn out the light, And how you sometimes wake me In the middle of the night, But, when I'm feelin Frisky And a cold nose on my butt, I want to know it's you And not your friggin mutt.
I must admit, the afterglow Is what I like the best— You layin like you are now, With your head upon my chest. At times like this, I feel like I can share my secret thoughts And speculate on new tricks— Hey, I'm willin to be taught.
I've seen you with your teeth out, I've listened to you snore, That's to be expected, That much I did bargain for, But, when I hear funny noises Like someone stepped on a frog, I want to know it's you, And not your friggin dog.
Hello, Darlin—where you been? I did not hear you leave. Then who is this here droolin All down my pajama sleeve? You thought you heard me talkin? Must have been the radio... Look, I'll be in the shower For an hour or so.
